You are not just an employee. You are not just a business owner. You are both, at the same time, every single day. And up until now, your finances have probably looked like it. Three different spreadsheets. Two different tabs. One big headache every time you sit down to figure out where your money actually went.
This is the tracker that was missing.
Every Layer Accounted For was built specifically for the woman who is still operating from her W-2 paycheck while she builds her business into what it is supposed to be. It does not separate your personal life from your business life, because your bank account does not do that either. It brings everything together in one clean, color-coded tab for each month so you can finally see the full picture.
What is inside:
One combined monthly tab for every month of the year, January through December. Each tab is laid out side by side so you can see everything on one screen at the same time: your Income section on the left, then your Personal Expenses, LLC 1 business expenses, and LLC 2 business expenses across the page, with your Monthly Summary column on the right showing your Net Income updating live as you type.
A color-coded KPI banner runs across the top of every monthly tab showing your Total Income, Total Personal Expenses, Total LLC 1, Total LLC 2, and Net Income at a glance the moment you open the tab. Income rows are pre-built for your W-2 paycheck, business revenue from up to two businesses, freelance income, investments, and additional sources. Every formula is already in place. You just fill in your numbers.
There is also an Annual Dashboard tab that pulls your totals from every month automatically so you can see your full year at a glance without doing a single calculation yourself.
This tracker is for you if:
You have a 9-to-5 and one or two businesses running from your home. You are tired of not knowing exactly what you have left after everything is paid. You want to see your personal spending and your business spending side by side without losing your mind. You are done guessing and ready to know.
It does not matter if you sell physical products, digital downloads, services, creative work, or all of the above. The rows are labeled generically so you can rename anything to match your exact situation and make this tracker completely yours.
Every layer of your finances was always the point. Now you can see them all.
FAQ
What type of file is this?
This is a Microsoft Excel file (.xlsx). You will receive a download link immediately after purchase. The file works in Microsoft Excel (any version from 2016 forward) and in Google Sheets via Google Drive. If you are using Google Sheets, go to File, then Import, and upload the file to preserve all formatting and formulas.
Do I need any special software or spreadsheet knowledge?
No special software is required beyond Excel or Google Sheets, and you do not need to know how to write formulas. Every calculation is already built in. You open the file, enter your numbers in the blue cells, and everything else updates automatically.
How long do I have to download my file?
Your download link is active for 24 hours after purchase. Download your file right away and save it to your computer, Google Drive, or a cloud storage folder so you always have access to it. If your link expires before you download, click it again and Squarespace will automatically send a fresh link to the email address you used at checkout.
The tracker mentions LLC 1 and LLC 2. What if I only have one business?
No problem at all. Simply use the LLC 1 section for your one business and leave the LLC 2 section blank, or rename those rows for a second income stream if you have one. If you do not have a business yet, you can ignore both sections entirely and use this as a personal budget tracker while you build.
What if I have more than two businesses?
The blank and spare rows in each business section can be repurposed for a third income stream or additional business expenses. You can also rename any row label to reflect your specific situation.
Can I rename the rows and categories?
Yes. Every row label is fully editable. Rename LLC 1 and LLC 2 to your actual business names, swap out any expense label that does not apply to you, and fill the blank spare rows with your specific costs. The only cells you should not type over are the dark-colored total rows and the KPI banner at the top of each tab, as those contain the formulas that calculate your totals automatically.
What is the difference between the Budget and Actual columns?
Budget is what you plan to spend or earn before the month begins. Actual is what you really spent or earned once it happens. Each expense section has both columns sitting side by side so you can see at a glance exactly where you are on track and where you are not, without having to hunt through separate tabs or rows.
Will this work for me if I am paid bi-weekly instead of twice a month?
Yes. There are two W-2 paycheck rows in the income section so you can log both pay periods in the same month.
Will I receive updates if you improve the file?
This is a one-time purchase of the current version. If a significantly updated version is released, it will be announced to the Layered Lovelies community first, often at a founding member discount.
